Parties for the European election

What the German parties are demanding for the European election often sounds like a wish-list that a 5-year old might send to Father Christmas. Maybe they are also political prayers, because the citizen called to the polls may rely neither on faith, love nor hope (divine virtues), which do not apply in politics, nor on loyalty, honesty or work which represents the people, for which politics has never stood for, although politicians always talk about it.
Since the purpose of elections is mainly to appeal to voters and win their votes, the hunt is on only to present the impossible as a possibility in the shortest possible time. And unfortunately voters, who are people, unlike politicians, fall for these bluffs. Perhaps this is the intention of political strategists; perhaps it can be no different today and in times of home-made confusion over the end of the national states, but in any case, this election is a strange one.
The statutory or legal foundations of the long-united Europe (Schengen Agreement), which since the beginning of the 1990’s reached its sad peak through gradual depreciation of the currencies and eventually the introduction of the crash currency of the Euro, no not exist at all. That means: Politicians across Europe can lubricate their election promises with as much supposition, deception and promises as they like, probably more so than in any preceding or following election, or as much as appears adequate to bolster their own political validity. The absurd thing about this is: It is no longer a matter of Europe, because the suspension of national statehood is perhaps the greatest fear of the Europeans. He would therefore be well advised who acts as if he is fighting for a strong Germany in the midst of a soon united but impoverished Europe. That is like a promise of marriage based on the idea of the stars from the sky. When it comes to Europe, it would be better to leave the stars in the sky; they have long since become unattainable for politicians and Europeans alike, and will not fall from the sky because of political promises. This is not what stars do.
The CDU campaigned in three stages, including with an election poster displaying the likeness of Angela Merkel, but above all the slogan: “Together successful in Europe”.
Mrs. Merkel, together with her election strategists, seems to be aware that simple messages conquer simple citizens’ hearts by storm. It is irrelevant however whether these slogans have any verifiable content, let alone whether these slogans actually say anything. It does not matter whether the CDU, which wants to be successful in Europe, has somehow come up with the idea that it may be little known in other countries. Merkel may of course be acquainted with some Europeans; no newspaper, no TV, spares us the image of Merkel, but the Germany party-political peddling department of the CDU – who knows of this in the Netherlands, in France, in Greece?
There is also the question of how the CDU could be successful in Europe? Or what even qualifies as success? The EU has its laws, which in some cases do not need to be confirmed on the part of the German Government. The Programme of the CDU for the European election therefore appears to be a little too simple. And it becomes even funnier when the inclined reader is presented with all the wonderful phrases from Euro Wonderland, also in “simple language”, so both the high-school leaver who has suddenly become interesting for the CDU also has the ability to understand the programme of the CDU, just as much as the stressed-out manager who still just finds time for the short version of the “Sendung mit der Maus”. Maybe the one or the other group of voters understand the scam, which the CDU affords itself, when it declares for example in this “simple language” under the following headings: What is the EU (p. 4), What is the European Union doing (p. 4), The Parliament in the EU (p. 4) and then quite unexpectedly makes the appeal: Vote for the CDU (p. 5). As if they had anything to do with the EU? Quite a different setting; German party-politics is not at all up to the EU stage, and must urgently learn another dance, or to dance at all.
The CDU therefore comes up with vacuous slogans, which in Point 3 of the easy language version of the language (“A good life in the European Union“, from p. 14) attains its ridiculous peak. The heading “Know more when shopping” conceals the following:
“In Germany, people are well informed. Also about things they buy when shopping. For example: What is in the bread? But we want the people to know even more. In Germany and in the European Union. For example: How is the bread made? So that people can decide better when shopping what is good for them.”
Yes, all we Europeans are in the same boat. So if we obtain the insight that we are being fed rubbish, for which terms such as political involvement or democracy are so foreign or so dangerous, just as the EU is foreign and dangerous for Germany. At least when it is advertised in such a way. So instead of spending billions on election campaigning costs, state-sponsored trips to the EU would be more appropriate. Particularly for our EU politicians, but also for the people plagued by the Euro.
It remains to be seen what nonsense other parties have committed for the European election, when it is considered that only 22% of Germans will vote in this election. It can also be assumed here that we are dealing with dreamed-up values, so that the participation will be even lower. Although Chancellor Kohl fell over the idea of Europe and then lost a Bundestag election, although the Euro is quietly reducing in value, and Germany has long since been bankrupt, hardly any German is interested in the Europe proclaimed by the parties. Nor would they be particularly if it were known that the unity of Europe was an idea of the Nazis, as Oliver Janich confirms in his book “The United States of Europe”. In Chapter 7 (from p. 89 ff.) Janich explains why politics must be a “competition between psychopaths”, and why the voter actually has no choice, nor ever did have. Not even when it is a matter of Europe, because no European people has anything to say when it comes to the holders of power, administrators and string-pullers in the EU. Then it appears strange when German parties believe that they have something to decide there, and it must be considered as a joke when the European Union presents itself as “the greatest citizens’ initiative for Europe in Germany”. At the end of the day, neither the parties nor politically motivated or related initiatives represent the interests of European citizens; especially since they have hardly been questioned or researched in an overall European study.
Is the German election for or against Europe on 25th May 2014 simply a matter of an image campaign by some obsessed politicians, for whom their own party-political stable has become too restrictive, or what is it about at all?
The only answer to this question can be: it is a matter of concealing the greatest bankruptcy of all times. The bankruptcy of the Euro countries, which has been kept secret by their governments. The fact is that all Euro countries will have to be supported financially, even those who have supported themselves and others – due to the manipulation of interest rates and the juggling of loans. The united Europe is no longer up for election. All that is left is the fear of the bankruptcy of the Euro. The expropriation of the citizens. The crash of all Euro countries.
It is a shame that even the election campaign costs would not be enough to preserve even a little of the truth which might interest the European of tomorrow, who earns his livelihood by work. These Europeans have long been ruled by incompetent and cowardly politicians – unfortunately without their co-determination!
