The illusion of a currency union

The so-called European Economic and Currency Union (EECU) or European Currency Union (ECU) refers to all the economic policy regulations of the European Union (EU). The plan was to set up in the EU a currency union with a harmonised economic policy. In the year 1989, the European Council decided to set in motion a three-stage plan, which started in 1990 and was realised in 1999 with the introduction of the Euro (17 of the 27 EU countries are currently members of the Euro club). Economic experts spoke out against the union and its currency, since most of the countries of this union were on the verge of foreseeable insolvency, and it was clear that the relevant national governments would lose face by national devaluation of the country's currency or currency reform with all its consequences.
In this sense, a crash community was created, which enabled the individual states to save face. At the cost of the dream of a united Europe, modelled on the USA system, an attempt at ingratiation, which suffered from a financially weak backbone, and chained democracy as a state form to the monster called money. This finally resulted in weakening the basis of de-mocracy and democracy itself, and also reducing the buying power of the people of the rel-evant countries. Every Swabian housewife however would have been better able to tame this monster than politicians who were clueless about exponential functions such as the interest and compound interest effects of borrowing, and remained clueless despite all the experience they could have gathered from past bankruptcies of their own country and other countries. Instead, debts of astronomical size have been incurred – a horror without end instead of an end with horror, which should have ended up in an honest devaluation or currency conversion or reform. Whatever will happen, the immediate Euro currency reform called for by Alliance for Democracy is the only way to protect the interests and welfare of the people largely in the best sense. The more rescue packages, the more transfers, the more politics offends against the interests of all. Even the 'Lisbon Treaty' prohibits the support of Euro countries within the European Currency Union.

Anyone who is prepared to prolong the survival of parliamentary and therefore indirect de-mocracy from the monetary side in such an inhuman way is guilty of abuse of democracy, of the people and their rights which should be ensured by politics in a democracy.

No other species behaves in the same way as the human race. No animal species kills its own. Humans wage wars. Humans coerce their own race by the policy of reduced buying power, i.e. the restriction of livelihood to the point of its complete loss – even if things then gradually get better again.

This is the only good thing about the free market economy, that when it goes wrong (and it does about every 60 years), everything starts again from the beginning, and then goes well for a long time, or even longer if politicians finally learn from past experience. No other spe-cies demonstrates so much stupidity with regard to its own destruction as the human race. Humans have been blessed with wit, they have intelligence, but this intelligence is clearly transformed when entering political office into a stupidity which is so far unrivalled anywhere in the world. But politicians succeed in increasing their earnings, which actually had to be drastically restricted because of decades of mismanagement by basing them on higher salary grades, in contrast to what politics can offer the millions of pensioners and Hartz-IV recipi-ents, and in contrast to what is offered to normal employees in the economy in terms of wage and salary developments. Not to mention the loss of buying power which has had to be ac-cepted over the last 10 years, particularly by low earners, people on the minimum wage, part-time and temporary workers. In the case of low earners, the reduction in buying power came to 22%.

According to the information of the Deutsches Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung (DIW) (Ger-man Institute for Economic Research), average wage-earners have suffered a devaluation of their wages of 1.3 to 2.2%; high wage-earners lost 0.1%. Members of parliament on the other hand receive increases which more than compensate for inflation (although they are respon-sible for the mismanagement of the whole country). Despite majority acceptance of her per-formance at the Euro summits regarding rescue measures and the delaying of insolvency of bankrupt European countries, and with regard to aid in the form of German rescue package contributions to delay insolvency, the Chancellor is no longer acting in accordance with her sworn oath of office. She hardly represents the interests and the welfare of the people any more. The more such Euro summits lead to further guarantee measures, like that of 21st July 2011, the more dangers will be created for the people by a policy which will ultimately cost them all their buying power in this game of roulette.

Politics is pulling through despite its mismanagement. It must be controlled, particularly if it resulted, and continues to result in such mismanagement. Politics must serve. It must no longer be given the opportunity of controlling its voters and also the mass of non-voters. Doing so simply to keep itself in power means for the people of the country not pursuing any efficient policy. All borrowing, with regard to its cumulation over the complete period since the last currency reform in 1948 has taken place against the interests of the people. Control by popular referendum, by which laws passed by parliament can be overturned, and revitali-sation to at least compensate for the loss of buying power, are urgently needed. The time for this is pressing. The orderly new beginning must at least be prepared. In this respect, no person who feels that they have been deceived by politics need think about want-ing to drive politicians out. He and his predecessors have according to current policy agreed with their actions with this degeneration via the founding fathers of the constitution and its anchoring with the corresponding majority requirements for politics in the constitution. This does not mean however that a situation must be permanent if over time it proves to be no longer supportable. The new beginning can be prepared in another way, with exactly the same resulting delayed change compared to a popular uprising!
